The VA: the view from VU

We hold sacred the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) mission to provide health care for all veterans who honorably served their country. We believe that all VA health care should be free. Instead, we see the continual cutting of veterans’ health care. Rates are raised, on both medicine and VA visits. Then programs are cut. Hospitals are closed. The number of patient beds is reduced. Fees are raised or added. Regulations are tightened.

Each change may seem to be “logical,” but the sum of the changes is to further cut veterans’ health care. We believe the VA is reducing Veterans’ health care and that the local VISN (Veterans’ Integrated Service Network; the VA name for a medical region) administrations are pushing that process forward. We believe that the steps they are taking are an attack on veterans. We are determined to fight back!

Join Veterans for Unification and help us unite all veterans, veterans’ organizations and concerned Americans in saving the VA hospital system and restoring veterans health care and benefits!

We are dealing with Veterans, not procedures… With their problems, not ours.
